TIME FOR THE GREASE GUN?
#5
At the bottom of the steering stem is a plate that has two bolts holding it down. Inside this plate is a sealed bearing. I just slide the steering stem up and pull out the plate and bearing. I then pull out the seals and grease the bearing, put the seals back in, and good as new. I would not of had to do this except I went to the dunes twice. When replacing the steering stem because it was bent I realized that the sand had gotten inside the plate and was eating away at the seals. Good luck, and I would reccomend to grease the a-arms and swingarm every ride. Grease is cheap and easy compared to replacing stuff.
