What sprocket seatup would be ideal sand dragging 300ft with the following mods ported intake tm45 on gas or alky, graydon pipe, rwr rev box. Also is it better to launch in second and then be to redline in 4th when crossing the 300ft mark, thanks for any input. Oh, running 22-11-10 10 paddle extreme haulers!

I think he was talking about ideals, 15/42 is said to be most ideal, pretty much the same as 14/40 but a little better, so I'm told. 15/42 and you can still use the stock chain! (I think you can with a 14 tooth front as well.) The only bad thing I've heard about a 14 tooth front is that it supposedly causes extra wear on your chain.

Yeah, I agree I didn't want to mess with the rear sprocket, however from eveything I've heard, 15/42 is more ideal than the 14/40. I went with the 15/40 for now, in the future I'm hoping the Lectron carburetor will put me back up at stock gearing with a whole lot more power.

One of the things MRHP is doing is lightening the rear hubs for DS's, the reason? your motor has to spin this weight. An aluminum rear sprocket also take weight off for less money and probably more weight loss. 15/42 should be fine for flat sand drags. 15/43 has really done well on hill climbs but I've never tried the 42 rear. I run 14/43 now but it seems too low.
Blackhawk, get rid of your v paddles and get 22" 9 paddle extremes and then blow a whole $55 bucks on a rear sprocket it will gain you more than you will ever see from a carb or even $1200 worth of motor mods. And if you will notice I won't make a dime from this advice!!!
