Default Updates On Carb/Pipe Dyno Shootout?

you dyno'd without the airbox to make it easier/quicker to swap carbs and minimize dyno time/money, correct? you still recommend running an airbox with lid on, correct?

I think the big question is why did all these mods only make a 5 HP improvement over stock? HMF shows more improvement than that on their web site with just the slip on exhaust alone.

I don't think we have received the whole story yet. Perhaps all of these mods only made 5 additional "peak" HP, but if we had the actual dyno chart to compare modded to stock we would see that they made 10 to 13 more HP at some other "non-peak HP" part of the powerband.

Right! that number was peak. It was about 12 hp in the midrange, and much better carry over of peak horsepower. The HMF dyno graph is a little "generous" in the midrange gains

Not exactly. Airbox with lid only with the stock vacuum slide carb. All other carbs make more power without the airbox! We dyno'ed the stock setup with stock airbox, etc...The rest were done without

focus on the words - kit - rant - rave - and "this site". They are the key points I'm trying to make.

I've laid low watching the mods folks are doing and I tryed to calculate and create a synthetic "$$ to " ratio. Hopefully I've done this as factually as possible. My quest led me to dyno charts and a tuned Lecton. And it appears the kit I decided on doesn't have results that vary.

But I'm not saying there isn't better solutions out there, but I am saying the satisfied customers for this mod have created a interesting positive marketing campaign.

Slowride,

Yes, there was lot of rant and rave, thank God I'm a fan of both carbs! Its does look from the numbers that the Lectron came out a bit ahead of the TM45.

There!
