Default Sand Stars, or Haulers?

yes the extremes are more durable but I have a set of regular haulers that have been all over the country and are still like new. as long as they stay off pavement and rocks they are durable enough. if I do have to take pavement to get to the dunes from the lot, I go very slow and don't spin.

10 paddes will work well at sea level, but HP loss at altitude if you head out west will cost you big and 8 paddles is much more desirable when climbing sand mountain utah or choke cherry idaho. 22" definitely, for more reasons than I have time to even list.

I sure like the fun of vees the most, no doubt, but you can spin a hauler around too with technique and the right gearing - but not as tight, and 22" dune trakker fronts help alot too and are cheap.
also consider rotating mass if you wanna drag a lot. the 22" 8 paddle hauler is the lightest by far, 4 pounds lighter than an edge, way lighter than any molded tire. I would say if you want a vee go with edge. several pounds of tire costs accel time, and in 100yrd drags can mean a lot.

Roost,

I did notice a small difference sliding with the Sand stars but I like the haulers so much better. If I don't plan on racing that day or just going out and duning for a few hours then I put the sand stars on. I do have a +4 swing arm so I can't slide in the sand with paddles that well to start with. If you want a great sliding paddle try the gecko's That is the only thing they are good for. I wouldn't put them on my quad but I do put them on my brother's
