Default How to properly adjust the FACTORY suspension?

Quote from mudstud:

FRONT SAG should be about 20% of travel (2.5"-3"). Stretch out the shocks, measure from bumper to floor. YOU get on the bike, jump up and down and rock her back and forth a bit, sit down and have somebody measure again. Difference should be around 2.5"-3".

I set my 00 DS up this way , but its just a hare tippy when turning the way i ride, so i give about 1-2 turns stiffer on the front springs for track riding, or turn the rear down a bit for smouth trail riding. If its set right for my liking, i can turn in about a 40' circle in the road standing up at 5-10 mph, without feeling like its going to tip over the front tire.

Recomended settings just feel tippy in corners for me. But it gets you close, then adjust for your riding style. If you readjust the front springs, remember to recheck the toe.

I to run about 10 Deg caster. Checked it on a level surface with an angle finder on the spindles. Had to jack the frame to ride height, and remove the front tires to do it. Im not sure how others do it? Mine was at 2 deg caster with factory arms and 4 bad balljoints. Deadly scarry that way. Much better now!
