There will not be a dramatic change in fuel consumption. As far as modding the throttle, the throttle arm in the thumb trotle assembly has to be notched, also the housing has to be opened up for the arm to be able to open the slide. It works fine like this, but I just ordered a twist for mine after riding with the thumb for a while.

Carbs runs about 650 with the intake.
I noticed a decrease in fuel! I can go farther with this carb. I know the loop I go on has a station on one end. I always fill up there. I used to be very close to empty now, I am about 1/2 tank. SO I did notice a large fuel change.
MrHP also siad this would happen. Its a more effective carb.

Mudstud, thats a huge difference in fuel economy. 1/4 tank or more?

Those are my honest results. I asked eric about them. I figured it would go the other direction!

Just runs right on my DS. I AM a woods rider so I am not drag racing like the duners.. I do open her up

I think my fuel consumption was up a tad, but I ride 100% Dumont dunes this time of year. I don't race much, but like riding the bowls and keeping the throttle pinned regardless of gear.

I'm ordering my Lectron setup soon. I'm going to get the Billet thumb throttle - I don't want to mess around with modifying the stocker. If I ever want to sell my ATV or do some different mods, I'm going to want to keep the stock parts. Sometime in Feb/March I'll have my billet thumb throttle + cable, then in April I'll order the actual carb. That way I spread out the costs, and spare no expense on the deal. I'd consider the stock thumb throttle if it would work without mods but I'm not a fan or carving a hole in the side of it. Besides, a billet thumb throttle will look cool anyhow. Now I've just got to decide which color to get... Black, Red or natural.

I considered going with the billet thumb throtle until I saw the price. I believe most of them said they worked with carbs up to 44mm. I would hate to shell out the cash and not be able to open my carb all the way
