You reading this Mario?? You may want to rethink the 12-paddles.

Yeah s-ticket Im reading this, I will try other paddle combos but My bike is cammed and set up for torque, With shane b @ Dumont With radar gun With My bike I gained 6mph going from 7 paddles to 10 paddles.. The 7 paddles just spun too much...ya heard me... Do what you want, all motors are different, Im spinning my 12 paddles like they are slicks, with 17-40, If I want to spin more I put more air in the tires and If I want to hook up a bit better out of the hole throughout I let air out. Next time out with shane b we will do some real time testing, but you must gear taller with less paddle and really get them spinning. But IMO less paddle are better for a high HP bike with less torque, also high revving cams help out your thoery of the less paddle the better... I dont run high rev cams.

I've ran 8 and 10, in 20 and 22 inch, and the 22" 8 paddle are by far the best outa the bunch for my stock bored bike, especially at higher altitude.
the worst I ever screwed with was 20 inch 10 paddle - mega mistake that I stuck with for way too long before I saw the light.

i have some 23" 8 paddle and for flat long races they are great but the ten paddle were the ticket on the last ride, and the sparks bike had the same tall skinny and it wasn't better.

i agree with the above. in order to compensate for running 8 paddles on a strong DS, you'd have to gear up a lot - more than one tooth.

also, the heavier the quad the more paddle you need. I don't think you can directly apply paddle selection rules from a lightweight 330lb trx250r or a raptor for that matter, to a heavier DS.

the length of the swingarm must be taken into account and the chassis setup.
