Default New Outlander owner ride review and comparision !

Welcome me to the Family. I am the proud new owner of a 2004 Green Outlander 400. I will pick it up Monday.

I went to the dealer today. I brought my 2002 Kawasaki Prairie 650 for multiple back to back comparisons at their test track. Their track has hard pack, snow, hills, etc.

I have driven about every quad out there and I have to say that the Outlander is awesome. Here are some comments based on doing multiple back to back laps between my prairie 650 and the Outlander 400, at their facility .

1. The Outlander steering is great. Much lighter than the Prairie.
2. The ride of the Outlander is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE in many ways. I had made tracks in the fresh snow which were about 6 inches deep. On the prairie the steering wheel would search and pull side to side, whereas the Outlander was smooth. The prairie never does this, but on this particular stretch it did, and the Outlander did not. The ride in terms of softness was no comparison. The Outlander was incredibly soft. There was a significant ride difference on all types of terrain. You'd have to do the test yourself to understand how much difference there was.

3. I like the way the powerband comes on also.
4. Having "Park" is nice.
5. The seat is so soft. There isn't a softer seat on the market.
6. The viscolock seems nice so far. It allows for very light steering. The steering was much lighter than the prairie.
7. The stock tires on the Outlander worked surprisingly well.
8. The voltage regulator was located in the back from the factory.
9. The steering position was nice.
10. The speedo was at a nice angle.
11. It drives and feels like a much lighter quad than it is.

I like my Prairie, it's a nice quad and has served me well. However, I wanted to have a softer ride without sacrificing handling. The Outlander is the only one in my opinion that accomplishes this.

The other thing I have to say is that you guys were NOT exagerating in your praise for this quad and all it's qualities. To me it seems miles ahead of the rest of the field. We know it is from a technological standpoint also.

Thanks

I think Bombardier should post a review like this on their website. I don't think it gets much more glowing than this.
