Hey all, Thanks for the posts. Sounds like I might get a little for a lot ($$$). I may just save my money for the next build.
My son is buying a quad and may get a Raptor, based on a editorial on another forum that said a Sparks Raptor ruled the Big Bore Wars. Any comments.

LOL...yep if your son weighs in at 80 or 90 lbs you can bet it will be quick.
But for real.....The Sparks bikes are fast. You will NOT be dissapointed if you go that route in anything other than the waiting line you will be in for your quad be be done. Be prepared to wait a very, very long time.

I think if someone wants a fast Raptor, there are other companies who will you get you just as much speed for much less wait. The only way you'll get more speed out of a Sparks bike is if you get them to build you one EXACTLY like the ones they raced with, and use all of the same tricks etc. If you get just a 'normal' machine, it will run well I'm sure but I'd bet you could get a dozen others that will run just as well.
I think if I were going to buy a Yamaha, it'ed be the YFZ though - much more interesting model than the Raptor.
