Default oil drain plug question

I stripped the oil drain plug on my baja and once i get it off will need a new one. The local dealer doesnt have them in stock but i remember somebody saying you can get them at any auto parts store(stardard size thread, etc. Just wondering what size it is and if anybody can point me in the right direction. Thanks, Sean

Hummm...well, im sure my brother never stripped his on his raptor. Maybe you ment me. LOL
Any way what I did was tap it out to the next size and that requires a 20mm x 1.5mm thread pitch drain plug. The stocker is a 18mm x 1.5mm thread pitch
Over on the f650 site they tell you about a fix that BMW has for it but that was way to expensive for me.

When you tap it out to the next size, you will want to get a magnetic plug for it.

Sean:

Call A&S BMW in Roseville. They should be able to help talk you through a fix. If you need machine work, I can hook you up with our builder.

F650 - They have a bunch of info.

Just take the stripped one to the auto parts store and ask them if they have anything that will take the place of the one drain plug u stripped. They should be able to match it with the same threads and same size but different shape.
