THEBOM,
I think you do pretty well from what I hear. I'm just leary of Klotz after Scooby tested the oil and it performed so poorly. I'd like to figure out how someone tests oil for things like viscosity. I'd like to think I'm using the best oil that has a good balance of protection and performance, with a preference on protection.

Amsoil makes a Friction Modifier Free oil for ATVs 0W-40 Product code AFF
AMSOIL Formula 4-Stroke Synthetic Motor Oil contains no friction modifiers, making it ideal for ATV, outboard motor and motorcycle engines. The friction modifier free formulation of AMSOIL 4-Stroke ensures transmission (manual or automatic) and clutch compatibility and prevents slip.
I bought some but have not try it yet. First to develop an API-rated 100 percent synthetic motor oil.

If you are concerned with price then buy your oil in a 5 gallon drum. It's not like you're going to ever stop using the stuff, right? Oil doesn't go bad from sitting - it's been sitting for millions of years. Find a good brand, work up a good deal on a 5 gallon drum and then you've saved yourself a LOT of cash. I have a 5 gallon drum of Maima Premium, $6 a quart by itself. 4 quarts in a gallon x 5 gallons x $6 each quart = $120 in oil, and I paid $70.
