Squashed front shock bushings?
Has anyone else had issues with the shock mounting bushings squashing and the hole in the bushings getting oblonged?
If i jacked the front end up, you could grab each lower a-arm and move it up and down about 1" due to the excess play in the bushings.
Its a 2000 ds650, I figure the quad was beeten and jumped hard very before it made its way into my life.
I made some nylon bushings on my bosses lathe and have replace them allready. The nylon should last almost forever, and i dont see any issues with them binding and causing any harm?.
Just wondering if anyone has any input or has had the same problem?
Planning or riding at tigerton wisconsin today.......
Thanks.

Squashed front shock bushings?
Just replaced mine last weekend. Along with all the hiem joints on my ASR A-Arms.
Seems like the bushings cost 3 something each. 4 for each shock. The bushings had a lot of play in them. Mine were dry and hard with the hole being stretched to large for the bolt sleve that goes through them.
The ASR hiems lasted a little over a year and a half. We ride all year around here in calif. It cost me about 250 to replace all the hiems at the spindle and and the frame.

I know the greas may atract dirt adn sand, but the greasless ones die so danm quick anyway... Greas the heavier ones adn wipe off all excess. Maybe even add the rubers form automotive balljoints or tie roda to keep the dust out?
Im not impressed with the greasless ASR heims at all.
