another red light sensor question
#2
It is the oil pressure sensor. It is located under the carb. It threads into the block and it has a single wire going to it. They are known for going out all the time. Most of the time you have to replace them. I keep 3 or 4 with me at all times in the garage. They make a boot for it to help keep out water but it doesn't work very well. I just wrap it with some plastic wrap and electrical tape before I wash it. The easiest way to check it is to start you ds and unplug the wire. If the light goes out it's you sensor.

Home much do these sensors cost and where can you order via the internet? Oh, if someone has a part number that would be cool too.

i did away with mine and bought one of those triple gauge sets with the mini oil press, water temp amd volt gauges. i just used the oil and water gauge and mounted them on the panel where the tach usually goes. be sure and run the plastic tubing away from anything hot though so it doesn't get a hole rubbed or burned in it. i just ran 1/8" ss tubing. you might want to run the small plastic tubing through some vacume hose to protect it. you should be able to pick up a mini oil pressure gauge for $15 or so. the triple pack cost me $36.
