Default sand star Paddles 22 or 20 inch ?`

which is best for the bomb 22 inch or 20 inch paddles . Im looking at the Sandstar ITPs they look wider than ghecko's but dont sit as high (looking at 20inch) .

What works best with Bomb ..I run 16tooth front , but have 15 tooth if needed ??

which tyre size do i pick ??

cheers

22 inch hands down.

The bomb is too heavy and really can use the extra floatation and extra traction that the 22 inch provides. Don't give it a second thought... just buy the 22's.

With the 22" you will also want to gear down to the 15T front sprocket.

22's for sure. 15 tooth front. Trim or get rid of the plastic heel guard. The 22's will tear them off if you don't.

I just read your post again. This is the question I think you're asking.....

"Should I keep my 22 inch Geckos or should I go with a set of 20 inch Sand Stars instead?"

Is that right?? In this case here's what you do. With your Geckos mounted up, go find a good patch of asphalt or concrete and power brake that thing until there's no paddles left. Then the Gecko will be worth something... as a slick! It's the sorriest excuse for a sand tire that I've ever seen... especially for a Bomb.

Here's my suggestions... get one of these tires;

22 inch Skat Trak Edge paddle...9 paddles will probably work best
22 inch Sand Stars... I don't have the sizes right in front of me... I believe only 8 paddles are available.

You'll have to make the decision on what you want for sure.

Let me know if I'm entirely off base here and reading into your question way too much!!

Hope this helps.

thanks Blackwidow ,

i already have gheckos' they seem to go very well , i have the option now to buy some ITP sand stars , (they are the only other brand available in New Zealand. ) but i have to decide between 22'' and 20 ' 8 paddle .

The gheckos are 21 '' so im not sure which size would be best .... i am happy to gear down to 15 tooth if required ..

everybody says 22" , i hope they are better than the gheckos ???

thanks for the advice ..
