I just got back last night. I waited untill after Easter and Snakehunt weekend, but it was still packed. We still had a good time though.

Where abouts in wisconsin are you? Im in Lake Geneva. We are planning a trip down to LS this summer sometime, but we are a little concerned about the heat during july or August. Whats your expeirience with this place at those times? How long does it take you to get there? Thanks for your info,

we live in verona, just 10 minutes outside madison wi. have never been to little sahara in summer but i have talked to people there and it sounds brutal!! most the riding happens at night ect. we go down in early may and late sept to mid october. but the weather can change in an instant. we drive the motorhome and it take about 13-15 hours depending on when we leave. this trip we are leaving wed at 5am hope to get there late wed eve,talking about 30+mph winds ( my old motorhome is not a power house in the wind ) so it might alittle longer. jeff.

Its hot verry hot and humid. I have been several times in the summer months, even my camper A/C can't keep up. Its still fun though.

 

spring and fall are the best times to go. This weekend it will be mid 60's during the day. Great riding weather. Last summer we went when the high was 88. ok, for some that's not that hot, but out in the dunes, it's HOT. and 88 in the summer is a cool day for NW Oklahoma.

 

The cool thing about LS is even if its 100 degree's thier are plenty of trees out in the dunes so finding a nice cool shady spot to stop and cool off for awhile is always not far away, and thier is ALWAYS a stiff breeze blowing also.
