Does anyone make non-progressive springs for a ds with stock shock? I would like to get rid of some of the brake dive and body roll. This thing has lots of travel but does it have to use it when i am tring to turn and brake on a tight, twisty trail? I would like to keep the stock stocks, but i got to get this thing to handle better. If I crank up the preload I don't get to use all that travel for the quick and ruff stuff that I ride.

 

Does anyone know how to get rid of the brake dive?? I see the spring are different on the 04. Are they a differ rate or ??

 

I have an 04 and I believe that they are the same suspension but I am not positive abou the rear because I have the shorter swing arm. Up front the only thing that I can suggest is trying to find a pair of baja x shocks. As for my ds I dont seem to have that much of an issue. The problem your describing is that you are going to have to set your spring rate and constantly be adjusting it for everytype of terrain, or invest in some three way adjustable shocks and dial in your preload and rebound.

I think you may be out of luck. If you get springs stiff enough to not dive they will ride rough. I have works pro series and have lots of dive, but it rides real nice. I can crank up the preload and compression, and it corners way better, but it rides real rough.

I noticed the front spring on a 04 have a tighter wraps at the top and the rear is a 1 piece spring instead of 2 stacked springs. Do they act different or do they just look different?

 

Try calling TCS, they use Eibach springs,he might be able to help you.

 

Some roll, sag etc is desirable. It helps ensure that the wheel with the least load stays on the ground. Suspension isn't just about soaking up the bumps, it's about the proper traction/handling in less than desirable terrain.

Stiffen the system up too much, and you will find a serious degrade in handling. I would think that you will not be satasfied with the results.

 

I SAW SOME WHERE THAT THEY MAKE A FRONT ADJUSTABLE SWAY BAR FOR THE DS. THIS WOULD PROBALLY HELP WITH YOUR SITUATION. YOU COULD TIGHTEN UP THE TENSION ON THE SWAY AND KEEP THE SHOCKS SOFT. I ALMOST THINK IT WAS IN DENNIS KIRK. DONT KNOW HOW GOOD IT WOULD BE ON REAL ROUGH TERRAIN BUT FOR FAST FLAT CORNERING IT WOULD WOULD DO THE JOB.

 

Are the 04 a-arm narrower? I noticed if i cranked up the rebound on the rear all the way it handles awsome but doesn't work to good in the bumps. lol
