I am REAL sure that gary would of known the weilds were ground down in the first place. He would of said there will be a charge to fix it... and as far as sending back COD..From what i have seen on here.I dont blame him for doing it..Looks like to me that Squatcher got cought trying to pull a fast one and is noe trying to cover his tracks by blaming everyone but the right person

Bartlett, you have a point but in this case the swing arm welds were filed down and even into the primary metal, weakened the whole structure. Squatcher knew this when he sent it from arizona to oregon. Did the customer tell TVI this before sending it? I doubt it, but I don't know. Sounds like squatcher is trying to get a free fix.

"gary might be leaps ahead if he would have called him and said hey I got your part and after looking at it,it seems that you might have modded it to the point it weakend the welds and my person that does the welding would need to charge you to fix it .... I know I said I would goodwill it but I didnt relize you had moddified it ........."

Do we know if this happened or not. Maybe it did and maybe it didn't? Squatcher can give his opinion of what took place but TVI can't due to the rules of the forum.

Once again, The Bom started this by wanted to know who builds the swing arms and people have changed the topic to bashing our DS businesses.

Once again Good luckTo TVI/DS Works and Mr HP in your business ventures. I hope you never make an unhappy customer because you'll get beat up on this forum for making our DS's better!

I always figured that 'bashing' a business meant making unfair, often false, accusations about a business. I do not consider it 'bashing' to relate your true experience with a shop. I am quite confident that the owner of any successful business wants to know where problems exist so they can take corrective action before it hits the bottom line.

Just my 2 cents here.

Ive been in business for just about 8 years now. I have some customers that require alot of baby sitting. Then there are the customers that have mutual respect. Then there are customers that want everything for nothing,. These are the guys that I have no patience with. As a business owner, 2 grand spent is nothing. If a customer of mine spent 2 grand with me, and in return expected me to kiss their arss, and expected me to put up with their pissing and moaning about something as ridiculous as a few cracked welds after GRINDING THEM YOURSELF, hell, lucky he even rewelded it for you. You should consider yourself lucky he only charged you 60 bucks. After preheating the aluminum with a torch, ( to ensure you get proper penatration), and then welding, that is about an hours worth the time. Most shops operate at 60.00 per hour. Hell, while your at it, why dont you call a technition to come fix your copier machine. They get 85.00 per hour. Or take your car to get fixed. Their pushing 90.00 an hour. Soooo, be greatfull you got it done and shipped back to you for 75.00 measily dollars.

You guys are missing the point. I think if Gary took care if it based on his word or said to him in the begining that he'd do it for $60.00 or whatever then Squatter wouldn't be so rilled up. I understand he too is unhappy about his 720 kit (Looks like I'm not alone).

When you offer something and a customer is not happy about a promise made that doesn't help your business. These forums can either hurt or help your company. Granted your bound to get a customer that there is NO pleasing and his demands are just out of reach. I agree sometimes items can be defective item, then a good company should take care of thier customers especially when they have bought from them in the past. I can't understand why Gary called Squatcher and bitched at him. Should I be expecting a phone call too?

Her is a a good example of customer service....

I own a Raptor which are notorious for the oneway bearing to go out (Gary has mentioned to me it is because of the sprag in those things). I bought my one way bearing kit from Craycraft racing. This winter the one way was going out on me again not long after I replaced it . I mentioned it to Bob at Craycraft. A week later I got a new one way bearing from L.A. Designs PLUS a check to ship the old one way bearing back to the company. What did I do after that? I went to the Yamaha forum and raved about it and explained to others that "THAT'S CUSTOMER SATISFACTION". It still doesnt' cover the cost of what the dealer charged me to install it, but it was an attempt from the company to right what was wrong in turn it makes me recommend them to anyone looking for a similar upgrade.

When a company burns you by all means someone should speak out of the events that actually happened instead of just absorbing it, and it benefits all would be buyers. Word of mouth is what restaurants thrive on. Why can't it apply here?

OK ONCE AGAIN I MUST EXPLAIN MYSELF. BEFORE GARY FIXED THE SWINGARM I TALKED TO HIM. HE KNEW THE WELDS WERE GRINDED DOWN AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT OUT THE GOODNESS OF HIS HEART. HE NEVER TOLD ME THERE MIGHT BE A CHARGE HE SAID HE WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. AS FAR AS THE COD I WROTE A CHECK IF I WANTED TO I COULD JUST CANCEL THE CHECK BUT I AM A MAN OF MY WORD UNLIKE GARY.
