Default ds650 end cap mod

could some one please explain in detail how to modify the endcap for more performance without butchering the spark arrestor? any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated

Hi the idea is to cut a hole out that takes out the two small pea shooters that are there some guys have done it and left the spark arrestors on and some have cut out the lot.
Save yourself the greif and get a MR Horsepower End cap for around $100 it is dyno tested and proven and the after sales i have recived from him ie jetting tips ect has been second to none.

It is also a lot better looking than a cut up stocker

dude it's not that hard to modify ur end cap i did it and my cousin did hisand that don't look bad.

one way is to cut the 2 small straps on each side of the arester. at the end not atatched to the endcap. then use a screw driver to dig the arester out of the base. it is hard to get out from around the pipes. you allmost have to tear the screen to get it out. after that just cut the small pipes off. baffles and packing will come out of the larger part of the pipe. cut off about 1/8" to 1/4" of the arester where you f**ked it up. that will allow it to go in far enough to reweld the straps to the side of the aretser cap. i have some pics that i can email you if you want.

ooh, I thought we were talking ds endcap. I have also moded a z400 endcap. it is very similar to the 450. allmost exactly the same. I just drilled as many holes as you can around the recessed area from the outside. leave the arestor on. until you are able to remove the small pipe that is spot welded in. then clean up the jagged edges around the hole with a carbide bit on a die grinder. we have done this to a yfz450 also. it helps some. and its free.
