End Cap - help Please.

Hi Guys,
I won an auction for a Power Tip End Cap off ebay. ($51.01) And I need a little assistance in jet settings, since I am usually scared to mess with the carb to much. Does any one have a micro fish of the DS 650 stock Mikuni carb pointing out where everything is located on the carb, such as the needle location and where to move it? And which is the air/fuel mixture screw. And any info on where to get the 175 main jet for the stock carb, and how much should I pay for it? Is it really necessary to change from the stock air filter to a K&N air filter, and what is a good price for the K&N air filter?
Thanks in advance this forum is a God sent.
Power Tip End Cap Jet Settings:
Jetting: 175 Mikuni main jet for the Stock Carb.
Air Box: Air box lid on. K&N air filter in stock air box.
Needle: Stock needle with clip in richest position.
Air/Fuel mixture screw setting: 3 to 5 turns out.
Altitude: 0 to 2000 ft

I too recently bought a Mod Quad cap off Ebay. Although I can't provide the micro fish of the carb I can help a little. Price may be a little differrent due to location, but I paid $2.50 for each of my jets. Yes it is necessary to change to an after market air filter. The power you gain from the cap is due to increase in out flow which allows more air/fuel to go in, but if you don't put more air in the cap is almost in vain. I use the Uni filter and love it. In my opinion the K&N is good if you are on the track and are willing to sacrifice expense, maintenance time and a little more dust getting into your machine. Otherwise use the Uni. Something else you might want to consider is running your snorkel tubes outside the frame (I believe it was Mr. Hp that provided this suggestion to make about 1 extra horsepower) and zip tie them to the frame. This will allow even more air in , but again is going to make you clean your air filter a little more often depending on where you ride. Also you may have to jet to a 180 instead of a 175 main. Hope this helps and good luck.

Sorry I out bid ya. But I am glad we didn’t run the price up to high. And I promise I wont bid against you again on an end cap!
Andrew Thomas,
We will have to get together to ride some since we are close. And I hope I don’t bug you to much since you offered.
