'03 DS650 for $500/$2000 on Ebay a joke???
Hey,
This type of scam is used in many forms, here is what they will usually do.
The scam comes in the form of the Escrow Service, they setup a fake escrow web site that looks legit and they get you to use it. So basically you get the money to the "3rd party" escrow, once it's there the EBay Seller will send the item.
With a legit escrow this is very normal, the cash is held till proof of shipping. But as you can see the fake escrow they set up allows them to just keep the cash or in some cases the items.
I followed a group of guys that reversed the scam on one of these guys. It was similar in that the Ebay Scammer was a buyer, looking to purchase an Mac Powerbook Laptop. He tried the Escrow routine to get the ibook for free. The guys sent a fake ibook (made of cardboard and stuff) but declared full value so the guy would have to pay $250 fee to get the item released. They even had people in the UK with cameras watching for the drop day... You can read it all here : P-P-P-Powerbook
Always do business on terms you are comfortable with. Never use 3rd party escrows you are not familiar with, and always...always check into sellers. Here is a decent site to help if you are purchasing items online and want to check on companies: Reseller Ratings

FYI.....
The items been removed from Ebay, and I never got a reply back from my email to the seller.
Hmmmm, go figure.
And ya know, I didn't notice the lic plates in the background!
Very observant!! Usually I catch those things, but like I said, I was chocolate-holic'd out and tired.
*crawling back to my hole*
Peace out
