Default Front and rear suspension setup help

This may sound dumb, but if i want my front suspension softer, what do i do to the springs? Make them longer, or shorter? Also, same question for the back, except i need the back firmer. So do i turn the spring to make it longer or shorter. Sorry if this question is retarded, but its kinda got me confused. thanks for the help! GO PISTONS!!!

You compress the springs to make them stiffer. So to make the front softer, you make the springs longer. Same in the back.

I made some money off the Pistons. Lots of blind Laker fans out here on the west coast that didn't bother to watch any of the earlier Pistons series.

o4ds650 is right on, remove the clip at the bottom ( if it hasent come off) and grab that spring and twist it. It has a lip that as you twist the spring turns the collar. the back has locking rings you will need a long sturdy flat screwdriver and a big hammer cuz they are on there tight!!. Are you setting it up for Draging?

The PISTONS ROCK!!!!!!!! last year when they went to the confrence finals, even though they got swept is when I could see there destin for greatness. BIG Ben, Rip, Prince, Billips and the adding of R. Wallice I was like Hold on this is gona be a ride. and WOW what a ride!!

I wasn't sure if Gearsmoker has an X or a regular DS, because the front shocks are different right? So do you adjust both the same way?

Don't forget about L.B. Sam. Different team completely without a good coach.

When adjusting your preload you should keep in mind that you should check your static sag as well as your race sag. If these two sag postions are not correct then you might want to think about a different spring rate.

Yeah Sam, I saw his wife. Pretty hot. Thought it was his daughter at first.

There are definitely different front shocks on the regular DS. I'm pretty sure that my bike has the locking rings on the front that you have to loosen up, just like the rear shock. Of course now I'm going to have to check it out tonight to be sure.
