What do you do with the wife if she doesnt ride, when your at the dunes?
I would like to go mabe over 4th of July to Silver Lake, but, I would have to put the wife up in a hotel with a pool to have her enjoy the weekend experience as much as I will on the Dunes. Any help on the subject would be great.
Any nice hotels close with nice pools for the wife and son. They dont ride .
Isnt there a water park close for the kids too?

I saw in your sig that you have a truck, it is an option, you would have to get a flag and an ORV sticker for your truck but you can take it on the dunes. There is a way to get to the beach without going over many hills. There are lots of things to do close by. go carts, arcade mini golf, small shops ( the wife was mad, there is no Mall) .
Pentwater is a small tourest town close by.
I would go to the SilverLake web site, they have a list of Hotels, I would start calling checking on prices and reservations tonight. The Water park is not that close, it is in Muskegon, 35 to 40 min away. It is called Michigan adventure, it is an amusement park/waterpark. That would keep them busy for a whole day.

1967 Wife - Blond, Blue eyed, She-Devil!

BajaX..We'll be up on the 4th..want me to keep an eye on your wife for you?!!!

Just kiddin'..we are going..not sure if we are taking the DS or not. We've been going up there for years, alot of time, without the bikes. Gets kinda crazy on the busy weekends. We usually make "guys" trips..with no woman or children in the spring and fall..

BajaXRider04, do you have your stock end cap? You will need a s/a to get in.

Wayne my friend, you are a genius. What a great way to trick the wife and keep her from nagging will your out roosting . I may just try that this summer.

BajaX...there is alot to do..we swim, jet-ski, fish, golf, drink, fish and drink more. We have 2 girls, aged 5 and 7 and usually we have alot of family come up all at the same time. Her family actually owns 3 cabins in a row near Upper Silver Lake..about 1/2 mile from the dunes..Alot of fun even with out the bikes. I'm trying to see if the wife lets me bring my riding buddy (YFZ) over the 4th, and if that happens..we will bring the bikes..

Wayne's idea about the truck is a good one. They can drive it over to Lake Michigan and park near the beach..can't drive on the beach though. They have a few picnic tables over there, and the family can hang out.

If you really want to open the wallet, you can rent dune buggys, Jeeps, or go on Dune rides on this big oversized buggy.
