Will I see a difference? DS vs YFZ
#1
I just installed my new billet moded end cap and re-jetted. Before this mod, my buddy on his YFZ was pullin me out of the hole..but I ended up passing him on a long drag. If I'm jetted correctly, will I be any better in 1-3rd gear? Assuming I get a good holeshot.

When I got my HMF pipe, the biggest improvement was bottom end. Then two things became apparant. 1. The stock CDI needed replaced, 2. The stock Kendas needed replaced.
I see you've at least got tires covered.

depends if your friend is stock you might get close to even off the line, but this is the problem your having to move a 500 pound machine, theres is at least a 100 pounds lighter if not more, there weight to hp ratio is very close to the ds if not better, if you can find good traction for the ds you will see a big difference.

You'll definetly feel a difference in the Rev Range. Your CDI will SCREAM " CHANGE ME!". I just put a Big Gun on an 04 DS, and the sled revs MUCH quicker than I remember, when I switched my exhaust from stock. You'll see.....
Key on the start up is usually:
2nd Gear
Rev and DUMP!
You've heard "it cost money to go fast" right..... well here again, when you are dumping the clutch at say 4K, your clutch will SCREAM "CHANGE ME!" as well. Call up RWR and get his 60% springs if your like drag racing. If you want a little better pull, get the 40's if they still have them. I went to 40's when I first started going out, and then to 60's with the 9-disk barnets. To be honest, the 40's were awsome and I wasn't close to losing a clutch.... after 9 months, they looked like new. In fact, I still have them for back up!
I think the springs will cost you about $30 or so, and if your bike is fairly new, you wont need to change the gasket. Pretty easy operation really. JUST REMEMBER, USE A MICRO TORQUE WRENCH AND DON'T OVER-TIGHTEN THE CLUTCH BOLTS..... Don't ask me how I know
Good luck with the Yamy's
I beat most by quite a bit now...... NICE
