new Edelborck carb on their web site..

Air,
After figuring out that my cable was dragging & causing extra tension, my Lectron open with only the most slight tension at first, the rest is like a hot knife through butter. If you get a chance to ride a correctly setup Lectron, that little bit of stickyness, while still there is a joke.
Edelbrock really should make a carburetor for the DS, more competition would be great. Although If I buy any more fuel systems it might just have to be EFI.

Fuel injection or a accel pump carbs are better for tight twisty mountain trail I ride.
I see all the people flocking like sheep to this is better then that is better, been burned once I'll wait for the injection to get the bugs worked out.

I think the Edelbrock is better but one is not made for the DS. It will work with stock thumb throttle (It is harder than stock). The accelerator pump is used for just off idel too low mid range rpm the the needle takes over.

I've always liked an accelerator pump because it masks incorrect jetting on the throttle snap. But, once you get the jetting correct, a pump is useless.
The slide on the Lectron comes polished. The only time you have to repolish it is if grit gets into the carb somehow (air filter or top of carb where cable goes in), so take good care in these places and you'll never worry about that (mine has never been polished in 10 years of running them).
The throttle pull is butter smooth - if not, the cable is usually routed poorly.
The stiffness at idle can always be cured by richening the needle.

The only time I notice throttle stiffness on the lectron is when I am on the throttle good and the RPMs are up then get off the throttle real quick, when I try to reapply the throttle there is more tension then normal (WOT, chop the throttle, WOT). I have also noticed it on long down hills where I use engine braking, then try to open the throttle.
I am worried that once my engine starts flowing better (race head), higher compression big bore, the minor sticking problem will be amplified.

I have not felt to much drag on the MR HP 48Hv Lectron i am running on the raptor. I have not used it too much since it was done but no diffrent then the stock carb i had on. I am also running the moose billlet thumb throttle..I feel no stiffness or any hardr to push just off the idle..Just my 02

But if you have 1 why shell out 500 for the other. For another 2 hp?????? why not 1500 for injection.
First Knutz then Sam Coe Then TVI Now MrHP who will MrHP **** off first to become the Next bad guy.
Lemmings. No one better get on here and disagree with the mainstream.
Gonna get POUNDED
