Default mod quad or MRHP?

well since i dont have an abundance of cash these are my 2 choices.
Choice 1--------------------------------------------------Choice 2
1: Procom CDI $129------------------------------------1:MrHP end cap
2: K&N air filter $40-------------------------------------2:MRHP ported intake
3: Mod Quad end cap $80
4: Mikuni main jet $4 (170 to 172.5)
5: outerwear for K&N $10

so should i go with mrhp end camp and ported intake or the others? Choice one is about 265 dollars and choice 2 isnt far from that. what would you chose??? thanx again for all the replies.

cline,

I personally went with the Mr. HP Endcap & porting on both of my DS650s. I still do not own a CDI Box. You'll need to get air filters regardless of whichever choice you make. Be sure to get all of his recomendations on how to get the machine setup perfectly with the stock carburetor etc. I don't know if he's got it all down on a sheet now or not, but basically you make an extra two or three HP in a couple places (in addition to the endcap & porting) and that adds up quick!

caandian,

I don't think Forcefed is part of HPResearch, but I do believe he is a VERY happy customer from all that I've read. Although I think he is hoping to get an extra 3+ HP somewhere! (His machine is 67HP & Eric's is 70 - last I saw.)

ok, looks like im fixing to be a proud customer of horsepower research as well, im very pleased to see that purchasing just 2 things from him will give me about the same output as prchasing 5 or 6 as in my other choice, that shows that MRHP really knows his stuff and that his stuff is also quality. thanx for the help.

Caandian....Blackhawk is right on. I am not a part of HP Research from a business standpoint, but I do however consider myself part of the "HP Team". We were one of the very first customers that HPR built an engine for, as well as their first paying customers on their new Dyno. Even though we have been involved with HPR from a very early point, I can assure everyone that the same outstanding customer service that we receive is spread generously to anyone who may call the shop.

TheBigShow....the swingarm on the Ds was built by my builder GrandRiverRacing of Michigan (Banshee Performance Specialist) Andy Weeks (owner) and I designed a Banshee swingarm to bolt within the DS frame rails to utilize the weight loss and cost savings of the flooded Yamaha market. The wife and I saved a bumch of cash on tires as well due to our ability to swap between my Banshee and her Ds.

BlackHawk...Right on! We are VERY happy! That 3HP difference shows HPR`s drive and dedication to never resting on their heels. In early spring our engine was the baddest 650 to leave the doors of the shop. A few months later, a few new developments were made in cam design and whollaaa --> R&D --> late nights --> many dyno runs --> MORE POWER!
