i spoke to somebody on another forum and they said the k&n with prefilter is better for duning, and all around riding and keeping dust out plus they are easier to clean and last longer

but the notoil is the way to go for drag racing, but need to be changed and cleaned more often..

plus if you are worried about air flow, they make oversized K&N filters for performance kits..

just what i was told--- hope this helps, i am going with k&n , i guess

well for people running the airbox on the ds i dont think you can go much bigger (i already have decently hard time trying to cram that filter in there) i guess you could fit a pretty big filter in without an airbox though..

true, the whole thing is confusing---somebody dyno these and let us know..

for me it doesnt really matter, i ride trails and pits --rarely ever race
but still would like the best performance possible

the no toil is better... It woldnt make much sense for mr hp to be running a lesser filter for all the work he puts into tuning his machine, just to slap a low-flow filter on, and sell those with his kits.
if you contact him you may be able to hear what he has to say about the difference between them.

Roost is right MRHP uses them cuz they flow better. In a old post some where Mr HP & Barlette racing dyno'd them and said the stock filter flowes better than KN "BUT" stock is not washable. after I herd this I took my Uni off and put my stock one back on till I need to get a new one. You would need to conferm W/ Mr HP but the order would go like this, last to first Uni, KN, stock, no toil. MR hp im sure dyno'd them all.

I call bullsh!t. Somebody needs to get there flow characteristics right! Not saying the notoil does not flow better than the K&N. but the stocker, help I'm sinking. I'll clean my k&n a couple times a year, prefilter every other ride for the life of my machine. Let me know how well the rest stand up will ya. The biggest difference between them all is not when they are perfectly clean, but after they start to get a little build up. The dirtier they get, the better that K&N gets in comparisons. Have some cleaner on ya at all times and theres no problems.
