I installed the 15/42 tooth combo this weekend. Got my first ride today at the dunes. Man, its a big change from stock gearing with the 22in rear extremes. I couldn't keep the nose down on about 85% of the runs today. Tried moving all the way up on the tank for launching and it still came up. On several passes I was riding a wheelie through the finish line in third gear. Its going to take some getting use to, or I will invest in a swingarm sooner that I thought. Second gear launches just didnt cut it. They were alot better than before but still felt as though it needed 1st to come out the hole.
The biggest difference was in the mid range and top end charge. Most of the bikes I race against seem to pull me through the gears, but after the gearing I was walking them down.

im about 99% sure its 16/40
i run 15/40 with 20s and have tried 14/40 with 22 sand stars (14/40 first gear is Totally useless...2nd gear starts rock, but i found myself shifting All the time)
sorry to go off topic a bit, but i have similar mods as you (everything minus the 46hv) so you can pull the front up (looks like you dont even need to PULL ? lol in third gear?) with my gearing 15/40 and stock 20 rears, on grass i have to try to get it to lift in 2nd (3rd i just cant do it) but it comes up on its own in 3rd with 15/42 & 22 tires? how do you like that carb (any issues with it?)

The carb has been awesome. Made a big difference for drag racing. The thumb pull for the 46 was the only problem. It took several rides to get use to it. Other than that no problems.
Yes with the gearing it rises up in third if im back on the seat. In first and second it comes up alittle too easy even with me sitting on the gas cap.
During most of the drag runs my bike had the front wheels up during 1st and 2nd and I would clutch and hit 3rd and the bike would start rising again. In my races I stay on the tank until I'm about to hit 3rd then I shift my weight to the back of the seat.
