I think I will order both sets and adapt to the sand as needed.

Has anyone ever had their pipe powdercoated?

You want ceramic coating inside and out side of the pipe. Your pipe will run cooler and pull more exhaust gases out of the engine. The average coast about $80.00 just fine a shope that does it near you.
