Tuesday night i have a friend that says he has a stock 04 predator that is wanting to race at hte local drag strip [beech bend]. its just a 1/4 mile drag. last time i ran a 15.7 @76. mine is a 02 baja, stock. but how do yall think it will turn out? would i get smoked or smoke him or be neck and neck? he also told me that it had a turbo on it that came stock? im not sure how that is but it should be an interesting matchup.

 

A pred that is stock with a turbo I dont think so. It could be somthing he put on himself of had somebody do it for him. If you are both stock and depending on how much you each weigh the pred will probably get you off the line, but you should be able to get by him once you get to 3-4 gear. let us know

 

im 5'9 140 and id say he's about the same. but ill post the numbers tuesday night when i get back. i'm guessing that he saw something that looks like a turbo on it, so it's probably all stock.

 

sounds like he has some learning to do.

it is the new predator 500 r with efi and turbo man,forget about it,it will smoke any quad in a heartbeat,that thing is suppose to go 120 mph stock,LOL!,no just rumor so far,take it easy,it is not released yet,just a guess on what it could be been...

 

i can ride pretty good, sicne its a straight drag, would it be better to start off in 2nd gear reving 5000 rpms and pop the clutch? then max out each gears or go to about 6000 rpms?

Of course, I wasn't riding it, but when I was, the crowd said something like, " LOOK AT THE FAT MAN GO! " [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

 

make sure your tires are equal PSI in back, start in 2nd and go. If you're a good rider, you should get the holeshot adn keep pulling away from there. Is this strip asphalt or dirt? That will make a difference on your start too.
