back cutting gears

Default back cutting gears

is it posable to try to do this yourself? I was looking at my gears and was thinking I could do it with a flat file. what do you guys think?

you cut the dogs at an angle so when under load they squeeze together instead of push apart.

its hard to explain, maybe some one can do it better.

Do a search on undercutting of the gears. Sorry, too tired tonight to explain.

I wouldn't suggest cutting yourself. If the angles are off your contact point is reduced resulting in undue stress on the tranny.
