15T front for 22" sand tires?

I have a stock DS for Glamis during the winter. I enjoy cruising the dunes instead of drag racing up the hill (just not my thing). Do you guys think a 15t up front is the way to go? since I put the 22" paddles on, it seems a little sluggish on the bottom end.
Thanks for any suggestions!

i havnt been able to run a differnt rear sprocket yet, but i would probably suggest 15/42 as well... when i run 22 inch paddles 14 is too low for cruising, and 15 just didnt seem low enough. I would buy a couple of the 13 dollar CT's off rocky mountain, then if you find what you like, buy an RWR one. (my cheapo from rocky mountain is starting to hook the teeth so i doubt it will last much longer..)

yeah according to the gearing calculators 14/40 falls between 15/42 and 15/43.
the 14/40 is the better choice for those wanting to save money, the rear sprocket is $50.
And also for guys who run 15/40 gearing with 20" knobbies only have to swap one front sprocket to go to 22" sand tires and back again.
There is no countershaft seal issue, there is no way for it to be effected by sprocket size. Others say there is a chain wear/durability issue - this is also untrue.
I've been running a 14T for a long time, no problems. I had to replace my countershaft seal back when I was still running a 16T, so seal wear is happening regardless of sprocket, I think mostly caused by dirt and grit trapped behind the sprocket. This is one reason I wear no sprocket cover - easy access to clean after each ride.
And I ran a 12T on my 350X, chain didn't mind that.
I actually run 14/41, just a tiny bit lower than 15/43 I think. this is mainly for shooting the face of sand mt. utah in 3rd gear at 7500rpm.
