What shocks should i get??

I fully endorse TCS shocks. Well worth the $750. The quality is outstanding, and the customer service is none the less. Cant go wrong with custom built, triple rate, reservoir shocks for $750.

lol wow, i forgot I even posted this, i had to read it to refresh my memory. I ended up buying a used set of Elka quadrates, they seem to work good, but are set up for a smaller rider, but for the price i can't complain

I'm another in the long line of new (couple years) riders who got bit by the baja bug. I own a stock 04 DS650. I am trying to decide on updating my front shocks to a little more forgiving pair. My question is should I? I am in the racing for fun and the atmosphere but I would like to make sure I have a machine that can start (and more importantly) finish the race! I don't want to spend a ton of cash (750 isn't so bad) but I want to find out if I should even bother. What do you think? PS: I weigh in at 240 if that matters

TCS' prices have gone up a little since this thread started 3 years ago.
If you can squeeze a set of rezzies/piggybacks in it will definitely help in your ride. The extra fluid will help with cooling and fade. Plus you will get rebound and compression adjustment. Most of the time you just get only compression without a rezzie/piggybacks, but IMHO I would rather have rebound over compression if I had to have just one adjustment. I weigh in around the same as you, and rezzies/piggybacks will defiantly be a benefit if you can squeeze the extra coin for them.
