Is it difficult to see your tach with the rollDesign steering stem and handle bars, they look highter?
I think I would like higher if they didnt block the tach.

How does the stem improve handling?
I know the handling between the older model ds and the new ones is a night and day difference,
buts is that from the A arms up front or the stearing stem?
It works great. It eliminates alot of the vibration you get in your hands with the rubber mounted bars. Plus I couldn't find a good solution to running fat bars so I made my own roll design stem and it only cost $100 to do it. The tach is still visable. My bars sit at the same height they did with my renthal bars and alba bar riser.

This might be a stupid question but how do you know if your oil sensor is bad...just by looking at the red light when you start the bike? If your riding, the light goes out..so how do you know its bad if it goes out during a ride?

Most of the time the light will stay on after starting.

I was thinking there is a boot on the "outside" which protects the sensor from the outside. Sort of like a sensor condom. When I unplug the connection and pull it out of the sensor, there is a green rubber boot on the connection with three rings which are also supposed to stop moisture. Maybe I just pickup a couple of sensors and rig my own condom from there.

I called my dealer today; there's a bulletin (2004-3) which addresses the boot for the oil sensor connector. No warranty, a service bulletin. Anyway, the rubber boot is $3 and the sensor is $13. Taking a look at the temperature sensor, I'm assuming the rubber boot similar.

The parts had to be ordered and won't be in until Tuesday. I'm riding this Sat and the light is on. Should I ride this weekend?

OZ,
I rode mine some with the red light glowing dimly, but after some riding it would heat up and it would go out.

It’s like riding blind with no safety net if your temp/ oil light isn’t working properly. Do ya Feel Lucky, Punk.....
Isn’t there another dealer on your way there that you could call to see if they might have a sensor? (Just keep it dry until your boot comes in.)

Called three dealers, no oil sensor switches in stock.

Guess I'll just play and hope I don't have a oil pump breakdown. Otherwise, I see the 720 kit in my future.
