Modified encap jetting
I ran a fmf .180 main jet. fmf needle on 2 groove from top. 3 1/2 turns out on air/fuel screw. lid on air box when I had the same moded end cap as you desrcibe. if mikuni jets are used. you probably want to use .170 to .175 main jet and needle on last groove from top. I think there is a recent thread for jetting that should suit your needs. I am talking 0-3000 feet.

I also have a modified end cap that I bought off of ebay. I rejetted to a 175 Mikuni (instead of the stock 165) and it seems like my DS is running a little hotter. Could this be due to the jetting being a little lean? It pulls great all the way to the limiter, but I was wondering if (at 50 above sea level) I should try a 177.5 or a 180. but would rather not take it apart and go through changing jets again if it's not going to help. Any thoughts?
