Default Advanced timing problem? CDI? Starting.

Well I talked to Jennifer, customer service person, at Procom and she told me the engineer at procom is on vacation for a week and I have not talked to him yet.

Well I went ridding all day Saturday I didn’t have the starting problem one time!
I made sure when hitting the start button not to touch the throttle, and the DS started great every time with out the "metal grinding, with the occasional not starting ending in a loud horrific metal snap."

The DS definitely runs hotter with the Procom CDI, but I never have the temp. light come on. Once it gets really warm from trail ridding and I stop at idle I notice that it seems to miss a little at idle. The DS seems to idle it's self up to about 1500 RPM's then misses and drops back down to 1250 RPM’s. If I tap the throttle it seems to even out at 1300 RPM’s. I don’t know why it does this?

This forum is great I hope this info helps others with similar problems.

What do you mean by 'miss' at idle? Single cylinder engines often have a little weirdness in idle since there aren't 3, 5 or 7 other cylinders keeping it in perfect time. If it's something you are nervious about you can try adjusting the idle, sometimes by moving the idle up or down just a hair, it will alleviate the problem. Also try going to a higher idle and see what happens as well. I run my Lectron at about 1800 RPM right now, and I've noticed as I try more different settings etc. it idles smoother, lower and everything is just better as I experiment with it more.
