I noticed in the owners manual is recommends a valve adjustment with the first service at 10-20 hours well I was going over my service recpt. and I didn't notice a valve adjustment listed as being performed. Is there anyone out there who works in a dealership service dept. that would know if this would be routine during a first service? I'm a little irritated because I don't think they did it and they didn't seem really happy about servicing it in the first place since I didn't purchase it from them. In fact, I went back a few days later to have a tire changed and they wouldn't do it because I didn't get it from them.

Checking the valves is one of the most important maintenance rituals that can be performed on a DS650. Check it yourself or take it to another dealer. It sounds like that dealer just doesn't want your money. I don't think my dealer checked the valves on the 10 hour service on my 2001, so when I got my 2003 I checked them myself and was much happier.
Have you ever checked valves before? If not and you want to do it yourself see if you have a buddy that has done it that can come over and give you a hand to make sure everything goes right. Once you have seen it done, you'll likely be able to do it fine on your own.
Also bookmark this link here - it will give you a LOT of info on everything engine related to your DS650:
(Remember that while it is 95% accurate, there are a few differences between the BMW F650 and the DS650.)
