Default Intake Porting

I have a 2004 DS Baja X with a ron woods pipe and a K&N filter with a dynojet kit stock carb and an open airbox I was reading about porting the Intake after you port the intake do you need to richen up the main jet ? If so by how much. Also If anybody has anymore free do it yourself hop ups please let me know. THANKS Would I be wasting my time porting the intake while running the stock carb ?

A ported carb intake will work fine with a stock carb. you may need to rejet your carb though. Becareful not to hog it out to far. You will notice a diffrence.

I ported mine, did make a difference, I'm running a stock carb, but I know there is a lot of power in there I have yet to unleash by tuning..... But leaving everything as is, u still notice a difference.... a worthwhile difference.

if you havent had your intake off before. do your self a favor and go get a 3/8" drive long ball end allen for the top bolt. 5mm I think.

spare one just in case.

Yes it's a 5mm. I now have a nice set of Bondrus 9" T handle ball end allens. At the time though I just used a regular ball end allen & then put a box end wrench on it for leverage. Also, a 5mm hex end helps to hold the bolt tight on the end of it when reinstalling, after a couple of turns put the ball end back on it & tighten down.

The top screw is at an angle, the farther you tighten it the worse the angle is.
