When I see broken up rings, the first thing I think about detonation!!! I've seen high cylinder pressure clean out the ring lands also, but #1 killer is detonation.
How big of shot was this?
Rings can take a lot of pressure, and so can the ring land. But when they start to rattle around in the ring land from detonation, they fail easily. I've taken turbo pistons out of the bore and the piston is fine; but the top compression ring falls apart in about 20 pieces!!!! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

Did you have a bad experience?
That would be easy to do if you had these minor usually overlooked probs:
Bad fuel pump
clogged Gas jet (lines not purged and cleaned properly )
No fuel pressure guage
Hobbs switch?
Wrong N/jets and F/jets
Extreeme bottle pressure
not high enough octain
Tight wall clearance
I was just wondering.

Yes that is a very bad suggested Jetting spec. I have wondered about that NX express jetting. Its dangerously backwards. If those jets were installed backwards (opposed to recomended) you would be in good shape. 4 points apart and lower # being nos jet is common sense. But when you are missleaded Make them pay.
IE- I run a very rich top end that allows me to run 2 points apart nos jet being lower #23/25 to be spot on.
