Default sprocket specialist? worth it?

Is it worth the extra 38 bucks to buy a sprocket specialist over a primare drive or titax?

thanks

SS makes good stuff. Cheapest alum. sprocket that id trust to run. They do wear down faster though compared to the krause stuff

I will gladly buy more from Speocket Specialists, my aluminum rear is holding up well longer than I expected.
But I buy cheap fronts, because they all wear fast, and the most expensive one out there costing 3 times more than the cheapest does NOT last 3 times as long.

Sidewinder will never get anohter dime from me, they are thiefs and they lie about the materials they use. they screwed me and many people I know.

must have had a bad experience. Ive never been lied to or had one of their sprockets fail. I do go through SS stuff every other trip out to the sand.

that's funny, 'cause SS makes many of the sprockets that the middle man Sidewinder sells.

yes I have a bad experience with Sidewinder, but so have many many others on this board. I paid $180 for a Ti chain that is all rusty, and I'm talking about the pins and rollers, not the sideplates - which by the way have all the nickel plating flaking off. I never knew Ti rusted.

the pins and rollers on the Ti series chains are tool steel, not titanium. Personally if you know the characteristics of titanium i wouldnt want the pins made out of it.

Your chain wont rust if you take care of it...

Ive had a standard non o-ring krause chain on both of my drag bikes for a YEAR and neither of them have rusted or weared.

sprocket speciaties does not make sprockets for krause, and krause doesnt make them for SS.

I know the pins aren't Ti - that is why they are rusted, that's what makes Sidewinder liers.
The guy on the phone told me the pins and rollers are made of Ti-Moly alloy, and that the plates are regular carbon steel nickel plated. if you think that is wrong then you apparently think Sidewinder is a lier just as I do.

You don't take any better care of your chain than I take of my own, nobody does for that matter, and you don't use a lube any better than what I use - my 3 year old stock chain is in better shape than my 3 month old Sidewinder.

I never mentioned the word Krause, never siad they make stuff for them. The bi-metal Stealth Sprocket listed in most of their ads is on the SS website, so which company makes it?

With you understanding of Titanium, what part of the chain do you think is Ti? Tell it to the Sidewinder guy.

go to sidewindersprockets.com. It says on their site what parts of their chains are made of what type of material. Just because an employee gave you false information doesnt mean sidewider does and/or is lying to you. ITS IN WRITTING.

Krause is sidewinder.

If you're looking for an argument go some place else. This thread is stupid, krause doesnt make chains and sprockets for ANY OTHER MANUFACTURER. Hope you can understand this.

I race on the beach. If my chain isnt rusted after the 2 years of sand and salt and yours is already rusting id say there is a difference in upkeep between the two of us.

DaBeechman we got off on the wrong foot, no need to argue, you aint running a 530 chain either are you? My fiends have a the Ti 520 chain from Sidewinder, its a fine chain, but the 530 chain from them they call Ti is not the same chain. Now I don't why they did that to us bomb guys, but naturally 530 chain is more costly to manufacture and what they call a Ti 530 is not the same materials as a 520 Ti apparently because I'm not the only person on this BOMB forum who has gotten jacked by them on 530 Ti chain.

I don't need schooled on maintenance and metalurgy, I maintain my bikes very well, as well as you or anybody else, and like I siad my 3 year old d.i.d. stocker is in better shape than my 3 month old Sidewinder junk with the same care and practice.

Krause not making stuff for Sprocket Specialists, that's a misunderstanding. I mean that Sprocket Specialists makes the Stealth Sprocket. Now maybe I'm wrong and Sidewinder never sold the Stealth, maybe that's just something else the guy on the phone got wrong.

I'm bitching about a company that screwed me and several people on this forum, sorry if I offended you by it. You got products from them that you are happy with, but they are not the same products that I and several others got, and even though they are called the same thing they are not made from the same materials.
