THIRD tire already...
#1
Arghhhhhh......I've alread replaced my front left tire for the second time...I'm on my third front tire in a little over two months. It had already been plugged three times from my last ride so it was gonna go but I hit a man hole cover that was about 10" above ground and there she blew....That tire was doomed.

Sound like bad luck
but hitting somthing as square edged as a manhole cover that sticks up 10" at any speed will bust most tires, especialy if you are braking at the time.
the ohtsus are prone to punctures i ride mostly dunes and have a couple of big patches in my side walls where sharp bits lurking in the sand have got them. so it must be a lot worse on trails

On my ohtsu's I had a plug in each rear and then I cut open a front. I put on 4 plys on the front and 6 plys on the back. The stronger tires have held up better but I also drive smarter too. I had about 4 out of 5 damaged tires from sharp rock (from blasting). Just got to know were to take it easy.

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking an entire whole new set on rims that way I can switch back and forth when needed and if I get a blow out I have an immediate replacement. What would be the best tire for the buck? Well, I'm gonna try to get as much out of these as I can before I replace them.

i'm really happy with my bandits, withstood the accident very well considering how the rim as bent to $hit, has a slight wobble now(i think, or it could b my bearings, they're quite craptacular as well)

went through the same thing with rears. had to bite the bullet & bought itp 22" xtc's then, one flat up front......................i knew what i had to do............now 10 months later, time for a new set of rears (their just about slicks) only one flat from donuts in glass & nails (fire pit)..........these tires are a little bit heavier but no flats......well worth it to me. When Im 5 to 10 miles away from camp i dont need to worry about flat tires. But i also ride in very tough terrain. i recommend the itp holeshot 4ply up front & 6 ply outback you cant go wrong.
did i mention i planted my left front tire dead into a bolder at about 35mph instantly stopping the bike (and only the bike) bent both upper & lower a-arms, rim, brake disc, and frame, but the tire (itp) remained on the rim and didnt loose any air at all the rim was bent enough it was hitting the caliper and would not rotate all the way around with out some persuasion from a nylon hammer thanks to my partner . i was being a pu... uuhh sissy thought i broke something in my shoulder just tore something. rode the bike back on three wheels sometimes four, whinning the whole way. ooops that was off subject any how itp holeshots the shizzel.
