I have not looked yet, but does Alto or Redline make the Kevlar clutches for the DS? Or any other company?

yes I have launched at 10K RPM but only if I need to since the clutch can't take it. the rev limiter is at 11K RPM. PAMI valve springs couldn't handle the RPM so I switched to Woods valve springs and added an extra shim. I need to blast the tires free so I don't wheelie instantly.

I did sand/surface the steels with sand paper, but I have a feeling they have been smoothed out from clutch slippage.

Because of the alky I have to change the oil every few rides. I don't let the oil get old. I've tried synthetic and non-synthetic oil and it makes no difference. Stock clutch plates wear just as fast. I'm trying to get some stiffer clutch springs to work. I just found out that the previous lot of custom springs do not work. I should have new ones to try soon.

The barnett clutch I run is 8 carbon fiber plates and one outer kevlar. I do see a couple of the carbon fiber friction plates lose one of their fibers but whats happening is the fiber is wearing fast - thickness of plates gets too thin.

I recently switched over to the same turbo KMS runs. My actuator is setup to run at a MINIMUM of 18psi.

To get a little more seat pressure I used one of the stock 0.060" valve spring spacer/shims that you install under the spring. Woods springs come with their own 0.200" thick bottom spacer. The stock shim adds to this. Since I don't run high lift cams I don't have to worry about coil bind.

My sons are running lockup clutches in their Banshees. Anyone making a lockup for the DS?

is the kms bike running on alky? or is it just fast on gas? it must have alot of extra motor work done to handle the big power it's putting out. the clutch issue on scoobies machine is wild (1 per hour) WOW! just put in a new barnett in the 760 but it's not near what the turbo bike are putting out, the busa's clutch is stock but a different animal than the ds.
