hey i
i just bought another set of a-arms with out the rubber boot(grease),are they pressed on?can i re- use them or do i need to order new ones,their isn't a dealer in augusta any more.i have to have everything shipped.i removed the clip..what next please!thanks

 

Are you talking about the bushings or the ball joints? The bushings should just pull out in 2 pieces with the teel sleeve. As far as the ball joints just remove the clip and tap them out with a socket and hammer. Just make sure the socket is just a bit smaller than the ball joint. Also you are supposed to loctite the new ball joints back in with green loctite.

the ball joints was what i needed the info on .i didnt know which way to knock them out.thanks.

 

Take the clip off and tap them out on the same side as the clip.

 

I just changed mine this morning. I used a press and a socket like JMAC said. First took the cir clip off.
The book says to use a template they provide to align the ball joint when it goes on the new arm. It has flat sides and needs to go in one way. I can't figure why, but I think it matters. If you need a copy of the template let me know and I will send you a copy that you can print.

You need a bigger socket to tap the ball joint back in.

 

The flat spots both face side to side instead of front to back. They are designed that way because the balljoint and the arm are supposed to be a little oblong for a tight fit. But I didn't notice any difference when I installed mine, but still did it the way it was explained in the manual.

 

Tourque specs for nuts on a arm are 46 ft. lbs.
Castle nut on ball joint- 37 ft. lbs.
