Iride mostly sand Iwant good mid and upper RPM pwer 5000-9500 what would be a good grind for that? Sorry to step on your thread Shmee.

H,

Since you asked me what the best cams are for your existing set up, I'd say that the cams you have are the quickest. However, you could increase your horsepower by going to a 425 lift cam, but the problem with those is that they aren't as quick. For dunes, quickness is more important than horsepower alone - I'd say keep your cams. I believe the only time you should ever consider .425 lift cams is when the piston compression is so high there simply is not enough room for them. I run the 14:1 with the .425 lift cams - they are great for flat Baja wide open racing, but they are not as good in the sand as a 12:1 piston and a combination cam like you have. Compression specs are one of the trickiest things that dealers can mess you up with. I hear of horror stories of folks that were sold XX compression piston, only to find that its not! That really messes up your performance when you based your cam choice off the incorrect piston compression.

I've run both cams (like the ones you have and the .425 lift), and for dune drags, sand dune trails - your combination is best. But for baja style riding the 14:1 and .425 lift cams are best. IMHO.

There are other things you can do to increase horsepower - turbo, fuel injection, or even increase your bore size. But those would considerably alter your existing set up. You may also want to consider sprocket size or tire size; those are things that wont alter your setup considerably.
