Yes mine does beep in reverse, lol. The 04's had the same rings as previous years. 05' come with different rings. We just did a test on a 02' 800, 1300 miles. 140lbs compression. We are suspect on the rings during heavy duty cycles, we'll see. Electric start would kick butt, 6lbs of added weight, I can spend some time in the john prior to riding to get rid of that, lol. Just think if you had to stand up and kick a Ds, naw give me my button! Jed

Doo has had ring problems with their 800's since 2001 and every year since then they have said they fixed it, they didnt. My friends 04 rev is now for sale as of this weekend, he had 2 more problems with it on our ride saturday, the oil pump failed and went to full oil and the recoil broke. This sled only has 2500 miles on it too. He is either going to buy an M7 or a leftover 04 rmk800.
Doo needs to get their $hit together. Our local dealer hasnt even recieved their 1000's and its mid december, whats up with that bull$hit.

Hey Trailblazerguy:
I have a summerhouse just outside of alex bay on the river. thats not too far from clayton is it, like a half an hour? How is the sledding up there? Ive been thinking of going up one winter and doing some riding.
Two winters ago i picked up a 1991 Arctic Cat Prowler 440 Special for $900 bucks. They had blown a cylinder and did a crappy rebuild and clearly couldnt get it going right. I dropped 500 into it and now it runs perfectly. so 1200 bucks for a sled that looks mint and now runs mint. The hood and everything else was in great condition they juts didnt know what they were doing to the motor but now theres no troubles. I just bought a new set of carbides for the season. (we ride on the road a lot of the time whenever we have a snowstorm with ATVs and sleds because there isnt much of a trail system. Carbides can last most of a season but regular wear rods you burn up in about a night on the roads unless you have some serious snow cover.)

Ya the motor turns backwards, the weight I was referring to is the electric start. Jetsnow your rep is starting to precede you. I came on this kidding around with you, but look at you now. When you meet up with all these people again, you best bring your humble pie. If I hadnt met you, I would swear your 10.
Ctatv, them little 440's run great. I liked to get all our 500 and under class sleds lined up and race, that 440 always ran with them all. Wear bars gone in a season, holy crap. I have yet to change wear bars on my 99' 4000 plus miles. Man I guess were spoiled out here eh!

I'm just speaking the truth, you cant deny doo has had problems every year since 01 with their 800 motor. 8 years ago our first sleds were doo's. We've had a mix of doo's, poo's and cats over the last 8 years. In fact i just sold an 01 summit 700 151 i had, it was a good sled, i sold it because it always just sat in the trailer except when we had friends go, i found a good deal on an 04 F7 long track so sold the doo and bought the F7.
I was suprised my buddy is selling his rev, he loves it but he just cant put up with all the downtime, everything is still under warranty so thats good but he's missed many rides last year due to motor problems and already missed 2 rides this year.
All manufacturers have their problems, a brand new m7 we were riding with this last weekend had its speedometer quit working and several bolts, etc. loosened up on it, cat just put a service bulletin out for the loose bolts too.
I'm just not afraid to say the way i see it. I dont see what your problem is or why you think i'm 10. Go join the forums on www.snowest.com if you havent already, its a forum just like here but all snowmobiling, you'll find a lot of info on there you wont find anywhere else.

if they're just wear rods without carbides they wear out in a night not a season(when we do road rides), carbides will last for a whole season. of road riding usually. The road is really one of the most fun places to ride when it gets really bad sometimes we get on the innerstate and really open them up. Cops dont like it but they really cant do anyting in a crown vic when a sled goes by at 75 up a hill. Yeah im real happy with the 440 because I dont usually ride a passenger and when im in the woods its often tight ATV trails and the smaller the better. newer sleds are a lot larger in sheer dimention and that wouldnt help me out at all. I clocked it at around 90 on icy snow but carbides slow you down with just wear rods it would probably do 95. consitering i ride in small fields and trails or on the road i really dont need to, or have many places where i could go faster then that even if my sled could. Its cheap, as long as it runs its worth about the 1200 I put into it and looks great. we dont have a long season and sometimes we dont have much of one at all so for me, its perfect. Way warmer then the quad being behind the engine instead of on top of it and the heated grips are great. best investment for it was a closed faced helmet too. i got an HJC sled helmet on clearence from dennis kirk for 113 bucks, free shipping

Ctatv, sounds like you have a good time, thats what its all about. Sean, like I said earlier, you might want to know who your talking to before opening your mouth about things you dont know. Forums are a great place to pick things up, but about half is bs. You want to know something about sleds, come to my neck of the woods, I'll teach you, so you dont have to learn them sitting behind a desk. The m7 was one choice for me in my quest for a newer sled, then to look in my shop and see the 99' powder special that in its time was the m7, and to know the issues, na. All sleds are good in there own way. Again, know who your talking to before starting in on someone. By the way, in 99' I got a summit also, guess which one wins me money and still runs?
