-1 swingam
#1
hey guys, thinking about getting a -1 swingarm. what i was wondering is, is it woth it by itself? or do i need a set of +1 a-arms to eaven it out? what i want is for it to lift the front easier and maybe a bit more grip with the front wheels..... also how drasticly will it affect suspension travel?
thanks guys

I have the 04 ds which has the short alloy swing arm on it, im preety sure the front set up is the same as the older models.
I find it ok on the flat it lifts easy enough, when i first got it i found when climbing steep sand50 degree + with paddels it tended to try and flip but most of that was cured with technique and i ditched the paddels in question. Im not sure if the carrier swaps over or not but im sure some one else here will be able to answer that
there is a guy who has a 04 alloy swing arm for sale in the classifieds on the atv conn web site main page
Pm me and i wil give you his E mail address if you want i am in the middle of buying another part from him

i email's him and got no reply....... but anyway the new style arm's are about -0.5, i'm talking about an aftermarket -1, and i was wondering if its to short of a wheelbase, and will make it too wheelie happey without any other modifications...... thanks man

It might make it too wheelie happy. My '05 can be a challenge on steep climbs with rocks and ledges, because the front end comes up really really easy. But it sure is a whole lot of fun when you are trying to ride wheelies.
