I have been to Croom (over 10 years ago).
How crowded is it now, do you know?
I there still a hotel near the entrance, of Croom?
I remember one time at thinkgiving, It snowed (yes real snow)...boy was it cold.
Ocala national park, I'll have to check that one out..
What kind of terrain, and is it wet or dry?

Ocala is mostly trails (some clay but not many) and some pits. It's cheap to camp a few dollars a day, but you get what you pay for...... no electric, no showers, there are bathrooms but no stall doors for the guys, and if you want water bring a 3-way and about 150' of hose. There are plenty of spots and there is more land than you can cover. The bad part is that all the cool pits are off limits and if you're in them or caught riding on the road (even though they're dirt) you will get a ticket. There are lakes to swim in when it's warm. Croom hasn't changed much in the few years I've been going there except the price went up to $50 per year per machine. The main sand pit is always flooded. A good place to check out pics of both and talk with other Fl. riders is atvflorida.com.

Riding in Florida sucks anymore. It is illegal to ride anywhere in Florida except in three places that aren't even remotely close to South Florida. Private land w/ permission from the OWNER is your best bet. Other than that you will be an outlaw having fun.
I could go on and on about this but won't. There was a new law passed last year called the Mark T. Schmitt OHV law. It requires Florida to provide at least 5 OHV parks throughout the state. ONF is not one because it is a NATIONAL forest and not a state park. To date no park has been opened. Florida law now requiers yo to have your OHV registered. The monies from these fees were to go to the making of these parks. Last year alone there were over 110,000 NEW REGISTERED BIKES/QUADS SOLD. Where is that money? Wel the state claims it went into a kitty that helps ALL outdoor activities. NONE has gone to OHV related activites. Horseback riding and watercraft gets A LOT of those monies.
I ride at night hoping not to get caught.
The freaks say that our machines are evironmentally destructive?? What about roads, shopping malls, homes, golf courses, ect... ?
Hypocrisy at it's finest.
Good luck finding a place to ride.
