Default Differing opinions

I am interested in getting the HMF exhaust and on their website it listed the main jet as a 165. Is this for a bone stock DS or what? Every place you read there are differing opinions on clip position and jet. If the only mod I have is a K&N and the elevation is 2800 what jet do I need and what is the purpose of the clip position. I apologize in advance I am a novice!

165 is the stock main. Clip position controls midrange 1/4 to 3/4 throttle. I run the clip in the richest position all the way down. Stock is second from the bottom. With a slip-on or end cap you should be runnning 170-175 main Mikuni jet. Buy both sizes and see which one runs better at your elevation.

One reason you see a lot of different recommendations is because some are for Mikuni jets/clip while others are for Dynojet. They are entirely different.
