i plan on getting 22in. holeshots in the near future and wanted to gear down for that reason and the fact that im 6'3" 280. what size sprocket should i go with? i ride mainly desert trails and washes, and glamis 3 or 4 times a year. will i need a smaller chain for the smaller sprocket?? thanks for you help fellas, Ryan

 

rmatv has the sprockets for like $12 i would buy a 14 and a 15. try them both.

 

I went to 22's and changed to a 15t and it works great. Gives you back your low end but keeps the top speed as well.

 

I have both, the 15t works really well but, maybe in the dunes the extra torque of the 14t would be nice. Like Shmee said get both there cheap.

 

I went with the 22 Holeshots in the back and 23 up front and tried it with the stock 16 first. Then went to the 15 tooth and what a difference. The bike has all kinds of torque. I ride in the same areas you do and I'm 6'7" at 305. If you get the sprocket they have it a rocky mountain .com for $12.99.

the 14t is not worth a crap! im going to throw it away! with my setup i think i lost about 2 bikes on the flats today. going back to the 15. crazy will vouch for that!

 

As previously stated you need a 15 14 is too low monster torque of the motor pulls that gear hard the DS motor isn't a high quick revveryou have to let the motor work. My sons bone stock with 20x9 9paddle extremes has 16/40 gears and he starts in 2nd comes out of the hole right with anything else. THe 14 feels faster cause you go through the gears quicker. My stage .75 was outrunning a stage three witha TM48 from the bottom to the top thanks to his 14 tooth sprocket.
