The production slides just got too Edelbrock today. So I will not get then till next week. Then I should be able to make the final adjustments to the air/fuel mixture for the carb.

The new slides come in but they stick just above idle. You have to give the throttle a quick twist to idle. So the slides are bask in the shop to have a Teflon coating put on. I hope to have new ones back by Friday.

It should go faster now. They have a local with a DS650. They can make a change go out and ride and test and go back to the shop and make fellow up changes a lot faster.

I check out the Mikuni HSR42 flat side carb on their web page. The throttle set up is the same as the original Qwiksilver. Edelbrock had to make a new bracket for the throttle linkage. As it looks on the web page it will hit the right side frame rail. I had to change to a twist throttle because of the push-pull throttle linkage. Hope this help ScoobyDFW

The push pull twist throttle is a dual cable set up. One cable open the carb and one helps in closing the carb. It is used mainly on multi-carb motorcycles. Clad you can us your thumb throttle.

I went to Graydon Proline today and checked out there new carb. kit.It has an accelertor pump and comes with a twist type throttle with a push pull cable. They were jetting it at the shop and I had the chance to ride it.It revs very quick compared to the stock carb. but was running a little rich so there is still some fine tuning to do.They are taking it to Dumont Dunes this weekend for a Dirt Wheels magazine shoot. Also in the works is a cdi box with an adjustable rev limiter, the prototype is on the DS now and lets it rev to 9000 but the production one will be adjustable.
