Anyone use Hiper or Douglas wheels?

If you keep the overall stock width with the fat tires your are purchasing, you should be fine with the narrower stance. However, if you didnt keep the stock width, there are problems associated with that, mainly being too tippy.
I love Douglas wheels, and think that HyperTech is probably on another planet compared to them. JMHO.
As far as the beadlockers, I hope that they have improved them. The DS is heavy, and I torqued my bead lockers to what they recommended and it didnt work. It should be noted that, the wheels I purchased from them 3 years ago were the same as the Honda 400EX wheels, except for the bolt pattern. The owner told me they decided to do that to keep the R&D down.
As long as you are aware of the issues, you'll be able to decide for yourself. Like I said before, mine make great planters.

What didnt work?
1) I set the bead lock to specs, drag raced and ruined a tire when the bead-lock didn't hold.
2) I got a new tire, decided not to drag, and with the narrow stance I rolled it, twice at about 40mph while taking a wide turn. No damage, and kinda fun, but very unexpected.
Other people have had tire inflation problems, but mine were fine; it doesnt get that hot up here.

I have a set of ITP's on the front. Fit sucks and they were made in China.
I have a set of Douglases on the rear. Fit is perfect and they are made in the USA.
Just the fact that the Douglases are made in the US and not overseas is reason enough for me to buy them.

I ride a lot of tight mountain trails and like the narrower stance of the hipers. Never have lost a bead or ruined a tire.
Before I got them I bent 5 stock front and aftermarkret rims riding in the rocks.
Are the Hipers good for sand? NO. But I feel they have saved me plenty in bent rims since I got them.

I've had every kind of wheel in the book and race tested(beat the crap out of) all of them and Douglas is by far the best wheel for the money. The Hypers aren't all they're cracked up to be, they just look cool. They're alright if you can get a real cheap deal or free. My 2cents.

YEa, I don't know about those Hyper wheels. They look awesome though. The Hyper plant is right downt the street from our dealership in good ole Lawrence KS. They gave us a wheel for advertisement purposes. Looks tight. I like the different colors on them. Im just not sold on a wheel that is made of somethin other than steel or aluminum. Seems like carbon fiber wouldn't hold up good with the amount of abuse a wheel gets. My ITP Baja's are holdin up great. I've never had anything other than ITP. I heard Douglas is good. I was thinkin of tryin some Hyper wheels but I don't feel like payin that much for one damn wheel. And from readin these posts, seems like they aren't that good. I think I will stick to aluminum thank you very much.

I agree with everyone else on how bad ITP's suck. I had a pair that I had to re-drill to make fit too.
I've never had a pair of Hypers but have had many sets of Douglas wheels, definetely the best for the money. If you are looking for good beadlocks in a Douglas wheel, check out OMF.
